Agency History
General Insurance Services is an Independent Insurance Agency and Brokerage primarily serving Northwest Indiana. Our Roots in La Porte go back to the 1930's with agencies formed by John & Frank Hargrave and J. Garland Taylor. Our roots in Michigan City, Indiana go back to the 1940's with agencies formed by Norm Cipares, Robert Rose and Thomas Ringo. We are currently structured as an "S" Corporation with 10 Shareholders. We have offices in the communities of La Porte, Michigan City, Valparaiso, and South Bend with currently over 40 employees.
